Since its founding in 2023, Linguana has established a strong global presence by successfully connecting creators' content with audiences worldwide. The company goes beyond simple translation, offering comprehensive solutions that span multilingual content distribution, monetization, and even ad generation, thus opening new horizons in the creator economy. With an innovative, AI-driven approach, Linguana empowers creators to focus solely on their craft while forging new connections with global brands.
Linguana's Vision: Partnering for Global Creator Growth
Founded in 2023 with the clear goal of helping YouTube creators localize content to engage international audiences, Linguana now offers a diverse range of services that far exceed its initial objectives, partnering with thousands of creators. Jonny Steel, Linguana's Chief Marketing Officer, emphasizes that "relationships with creators are our greatest asset." He states that through ongoing communication, the company builds solutions for global distribution and monetization, enabling creators to focus solely on content creation.

Linguana's business model is designed as a "hands-off" approach that places no burden on creators. Co-founders Yuval Tal and Oded Shafran ensured from the outset that Linguana would handle the entire process of content localization, distribution, and monetization. For example, if an American creator producing English content is identified as having high viewership potential in markets like Brazil or the Philippines, Linguana will set up a separate channel in the local language. They then use an AI voice clone of the creator to redub all original videos. Creators incur no upfront costs; instead, Linguana publishes the content, manages the channels, and takes a percentage of the AdSense revenue.
Beyond YouTube: Expanding Global Content Distribution Across Diverse Platforms
Linguana's unique business model positions it as a distributor that effectively delivers content to global audiences without increasing creators' workloads. As the industry evolves, more creators are seeking to diversify revenue streams through cross-platform distribution and external platform monetization, leading Linguana's partner creators to request expansion beyond YouTube. Jonny Steel explains, "Initially, we focused on YouTube, but localizing content into 40 languages is like managing 40 channels, not just one." He adds that this strategy builds an extensive multilingual content library that can be distributed, discovered, and monetized across numerous potential audiences and platforms.
One of the key platforms Linguana currently focuses on is MSN. Steel notes that this is a highly popular way to reach new global audiences across Microsoft-owned products like Windows, Bing, Edge, and the MSN News site. MSN is particularly valuable to creators because "revenue is generated from the very first view." Linguana has tested various content types on MSN, achieving significant success with Czech and Japanese channels, and has identified potential in France and other European regions. Furthermore, the company has expanded its multilingual content distribution to Spotify, which is growing its video podcast offerings, and the video site Dailymotion. Linguana is also pursuing agreements with TikTok, Meta, and major players within the FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) ecosystem.
Generative AI Advertising: Opening New Horizons for Creator Revenue
Another innovative element Linguana has introduced over the past six months is generative AI advertising. Linguana was already working with creators to embed ads into localized content, and this process, like its localization services, is "hands-off" for creators. Linguana directly brokers ad deals with companies and internally produces customized advertisements across dozens of languages and regions, matching the creator's voice and style. For instance, if a US-based cooking channel partners with an American restaurant chain, Linguana can localize that video for Filipino viewers, broker a partnership with a local Filipino chain, and create a custom ad tailored to the local audience, thereby generating more brand deal revenue.
Steel elaborated that "when we insert localized ads, we effectively represent the creators," providing them with an additional revenue stream by handling everything from brand discovery to the seamless insertion of fully produced advertisements. Integrating AI into the ad creation pipeline enables experimentation to achieve the ultimate goal of advertising: "how do we entertain the viewer and, at the same time, effectively persuade the right people to buy the product?" Steel emphasized that AI advertising also adheres to Linguana's core principle of minimizing the creator's burden. Creators only need to approve the ad deal, as Linguana uses AI to produce ads that naturally blend into the video, without requiring additional work such as scriptwriting or recording.
Linguana's Continued Growth and Value Creation Through Network Effects
The combination of content localization, brand deal management for creators, expanded distribution beyond YouTube, and AI-powered ad generation creates powerful "network effects" that accelerate Linguana's business growth. Jonny Steel states that "more and more brands see our ad segments, and they realize that we are open for advertising business and we are a place where they can advertise." Now, in brand meetings, Linguana can ask, "What age group in what country do you want to reach?" and then present 10, 20, or 30 channels capable of reaching those audiences, integrating brand segments across all those videos. This offers a very clear way to scale reach significantly.
Linguana currently localizes content into 41 languages and collaborates with an increasing number of global brands. Steel emphasizes Linguana's unique selling proposition, noting that "companies are interested in acquiring new customers not just in the UK and US, but also in Brazil and Germany." He contrasts this by stating that "most creators are limited to one language and one demographic, whereas our network can offer much more." Thus, Linguana provides exclusive value to both creators and brands, establishing itself as an indispensable key player in the global creator economy.
